I guess this could be considered the 'novelty' song on this wonderful record, but I think the 11-year-old J-Bird Heckel (who is also the bassist) creates something beautiful from this Johnny Cash classic. It's disarming to hear such a soft, unjaded voice recite Cash's dark, violent lyrics. It gives the whole thing a bit of an ethereal quality. The trippy, fuzzed-out guitar breakdown is also very unexpected indeed.
