Join Melissa Griffin, Assistant State Climatologist at the South Carolina Department of Natural
Resources as she will answer questions submitted by Weather Band members and discuss tips, tricks, and tactics for staying safe in the heat this summer. Topics discussed include heat waves, how heat and humidity affects us, and the differences between WetBulb Globe Temperatures and Heat Index.
Moderating the webinar is Cheryl Nelson, the Founder & Owner of Prepare with Cher, LLC.
Cheryl is an award-winning TV host and an AMS certified broadcast meteorologist with two decades of national and local television experience. Currently, she is also co-host for the national lifestyle TV show, “Main St. Living,” on the YurView Network and a Natural Disaster Preparedness Expert/Instructor certified by FEMA’s National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC).
