Hearpeers Mentor Hildegard from Germany has loved music since she was a child. She struggled to hear in her right ear since age 11, but she continued to play music. After Hildegard was no longer able to work due to her hearing loss, she decided to get a bone conduction implant and now loves to perform in choirs and instrumental groups.
In September 2025, Hildegard and eight other Hearpeers Mentors around the world travelled to Innsbruck, Austria to perform at the Hearpeers Anniversary Concert.
These hearing implant users took to the stage to showcase their musical talents, performing genres from Austrian folk music to self-composed Spanish rock ballads. The Hearpeers Anniversary Concert was a moving reminder of the life-changing potential of hearing implants.
