Today we’re reviewing The Hearach, the first single malt whisky released by the Isle of Harris Distillery.
Named after the Gaelic word for a resident of Harris, this whisky represents the distillery’s debut into Scotch whisky after years of producing their famous Isle of Harris Gin.
The Hearach is a lightly peated Island single malt matured in a mix of first fill ex bourbon, ex oloroso, and ex fino sherry casks, giving the whisky a balance of malt sweetness, fruit, spice, and gentle smoke.
