In the mid 00's a group of women gathered on LiveJournal and discussed their love for Severus Snape...until it went too far. These women believed Snape was real, and they were all married to him on an astral plane. The first installment on a three part series about the cults that sprung from the HP fandom.

I know this rebrand may seem like a random left turn, a bit out of nowhere, but, honestly, I’ve been feeling creatively stifled for a long time now. I’ve tried to fix this problem a couple times before, by making my second channel, and a soft-rebrand around the beginning of the year, but neither of these fixed the problem. I’ve tried stretching the definition of a “beauty/commentary” channel to the limit, but there are just so many things I want to talk about, make videos on, that have nothing to do with this industry or community. I love makeup, I love skincare, I love this community, and none of that is changing. However, I know it’s time to move on and go in a different direction with this channel.
I hope you’ll consider sticking around. There’s so much content I’m super excited to make, like the rest of this trilogy, as well as deep dives into some fascinating internet phenomena and communities I’ve come across, the history of one of my favorite singers, and so much more. There will still be some occasional beauty community content, this community is part of internet culture after all! It will just be more limited in type and amount. I’m also going to keep my SarahJo_Makeup Instagram account beauty focused, with looks, product reviews, etc. posted there, with more short form videos incorporated into the page. As for this channel, I am keeping Emmy and Stassi, and maybe another interesting character you’ve yet to meet, as features of this channel. And I’ll still be finishing my Year of Less Stuff project with monthly check in videos. I want to keep what I’ve learned from almost three years on this platform, to keep challenging myself to improve and bring you all better content, but to go in a direction that feels more honest and inspiring to who I am now.
If this rebrand is not for you, I still want to thank you for taking the time you have with me. Whether that’s one video, or since video one. Sincerely thank you for your part in my journey on this platform, and I hope you find wonderful beauty creators that bring you the content you’re looking for.
