From the deck of the Orca comes one of the most iconic pieces of shark-hunting gear in cinema history: Quint’s screen- and photo-matched W. W. Greener Light Harpoon Gun Mark II from Jaws (1975).
This is the harpoon Quint fires into the Great White we know and love as Bruce, launching those unmistakable yellow barrels that refuse to stay submerged. It’s one of the defining moments of the legendary shark hunt and a scene every Jaws fan instantly remembers.
The distinctive woodgrain on the rifle’s stock screen-matches to close-ups of Quint opening the case and to multiple production stills, including the famous publicity image of Robert Shaw holding the harpoon gun. Even the green transport case matches down to scratches and wear marks, both inside and out.
And then there’s the clever bit of movie magic. Included with the lot is the custom special effects shark dart engineered by the SFX team. Real Greener harpoons lock into their targets, so this streamlined needle-tipped version was designed to puncture the animatronic shark and be safely removed between takes.
