How would you like to feel and live guilt free by having an eco footprint that our one earth can sustain? Harmless Home owner, Arno Keinonen, has an eco footprint 15x less than that of the average person. Arno comes from a Finnish family of pioneers. His own father, a civil engineer, warned of climate change in the 1970’s and Arno saw first hand in his 30 year career as a naval architect, specializing in icebreaker design, the alarming disappearance of Arctic ice, of which, nearly 40% of the volume of the polar ice pack had vanished during his career alone.
The impact of what he saw, led him on a mission to lead by example and reduce his carbon footprint and divest of oil in all areas of his and his wife, Linda’s life. He loves to show others how they too can lower their eco footprint and costs, while producing their own energy, food, and water. Named the Harmless Home, the Keinonen’s carbon neutral East Sooke home features revolutionary, Canadian-made technology.
