The Hario V60 didn't stop at one brewer. It’s quietly became five... and the biggest difference isn't the colour or the material. It's geometry.
The Classic V60 we know uses twelve long ribs that keep the paper slightly off the walls. That creates bypass and but gives you a lot of direction on where the water travels.
Then there's the Mugen. Its star-shaped pattern lets the filter cling much closer to the brewer. Way Less bypass. Slower Draw download and a better textured cup.
The Neo heads in the opposite direction. Seventy-two ribs create loads of channels for water to move through. It gives me the fastest drawdowns here, and some of the most repeatable brews.
The Alpha sits somewhere in the middle. Those channels guide flow while still allowing some bypass, so it feels balanced without becoming restrictive.
And then... the Suiren. No walls. Just ribs. Heat escapes faster, bypass almost disappears, and suddenly you're brewing in a completely different environment.
