Balatro is a game I've come to absolutely adore over the last few months, and in that time I've managed to obtain Completionist++, the highest honor in standard Balatro. I've never seen modded Balatro as particularly interesting in the past, due to the relative ease of absolutely obliterating the game, but that changed one night in a VC with some people in my Discord. We saw a deck that intrigued all of us, and the rest is history.

Balatro's Cryptid Mod is a mod primarily used to break the game, so what happens when the tables are turned and it tries to break us? It's home to a particularly frustrating "very fair deck," which disallows the mere existence of natural vouchers, and reduces your base hands/discards to a measly 2 hands and 1 discard. This alone would not be hard due to the nature of cryptids jokers and abilities to break the game, so instead of capping it off with Gold Stake, we pushed the metric past like 20 other stakes onto the hardest modded stake: Ascendant Stake. This adds a ridiculous amount of stipulations that I cannot possibly write here, but let's just say the "Very Fair" deck does not live up to its name lol.

Me and a few other people in my Discord were attempting to do this run unseeded, and the furthest we got after actual days of attempts was a measly ANTE 4. Along the way we stumbled across this seed, and when presented with an exotic joker we decided to dive deeper to truly find out if it was possible, and after a good half hour of strategizing, we finally had proof that this feat was possible.
