This is even sloppier than my usual efforts. But it's actually pretty hard to play cleanly. I have so many tunes on the waiting list that I don't have time to polish them up. I have to let them go for the sake of 'progress'. I know. Lame.
It's a goofy little tune that I discovered in my Walter Jacobs collection. It sounds familiar; like something I may have heard growing up watching cartoons or the Three Stooges. It's one of those tunes that is more fun to play than it is to listen to, so I expect a very low view count. But for the student guitarist I recommend giving it a try. It's more difficult than I thought it would be. The left hand has some serious challenges to play this well. You'll get better trying to play it. I didn't, but you will.
There is another "Happy Wanderer" here on Youtube that is much more familiar than this one. This one was apparently "lost" along with the other works of Friedrich Damm. I can't find anything else by this guy. If not for Walter Jacobs, there might not be any record of his existence in the music world. Poor fellow. Even his fellow Germans have forgotten him.
