This summer many Americans will hop in the car and take a road trip. But in the mid-20th century, road trips for African-Americans could be dangerous.
On this episode we'll learn about Victor Hugo Green, a postal worker who created the Negro Motorist Green Book. The book was a guide for black motorists to safely navigate them through the United States to places they could eat, sleep, fill their cars with gas, and more without having to fear any backlash from segregation.
