The "Beast Quake" is widely considered one of the greatest and most iconic runs in NFL history. On January 8, 2011, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch unleashed a legendary 67-yard touchdown run against the New Orleans Saints during the NFC Wild Card game.
What made the play immortal was not just Lynch breaking nine tackles and delivering an unforgettable, physics-defying stiff-arm to Tracy Porter, but the literal explosion of fan celebration. The under-dog Seahawks entered the playoffs with a sub-.500 record (7-9) and were facing the heavily favored defending Super Bowl champion Saints. With less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and holding a narrow 34-30 lead, the Seahawks called a standard "17 Power" run play to pick up a first down and chew the clock. Lynch burst through the line of scrimmage, bounced off initial contact in the backfield, and accelerated downfield. The play became a masterclass in team hustle.
