"Human beings are creatures of habit," where did this widely known concept come from? Is it not just a common sense understanding of repeatedly observing humans in their chosen responses to their environs. Some could stretch the point and call this scientific observation. If creatures choose their habits, and emotional outcomes follow actions, then are not humans habitually shaping their "brain" chemistry? So we inject some medicine, without trying to correct the mistaken habit? What do we expect future results will be? The "habits" worth correcting are sinful, that is why they have destructive potential, it matters not if one side of the equations stops feeling pain temporarily over the dilemma, to continue in sin, even if temporarily numbed, will only allow one to plant a further harvest of unrighteousness. Oh, and trying to fix sin without a Savior, problematic indeed.
