My thoughts on the 1979 book by Hunter S. Thompson, famous American jounralist. This is the first volume of the so-called "Gonzo Papers" (which include "The Great Shark Hunt", "Generation of Swine", "Songs of the Doomed" and "Better than Sex") and I intend to go through them all before the year is out. However, I am waiting to cover the rest unti lthe huge collected edition comes out this November.
I wanted to note that I did not cover the style of writing here because it can be easily researched and/or sampled online and I have fully explained it in my other Hunter S. Thompson book reviews. The style remains the same here. It is not all "gonzo", nor is it all more professional writing, is is a mix of both, letters and everything in-between (which is another reason I didn't cover it, time would not allow a good examination).
