Adafruit Industries | The Great Search: I2S microphone @DigiKey @Adafruit @adafruit | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 2 days ago.
On previous Great Searches we've looked for analog MEMS mics (youtube.com/watch?v=IFd3mD-WhRs) and I2S Quad ADCs (youtube.com/watch?v=IcbqRc22anM) but we haven't yet done I2S MEMS microphones.
These are nifty little all-in-one chips that have a microphone port plus I2S output. All you have to do is send BCLK and LRCLK and 24- or 32-bit data pops out, no configuration or amplification or filtration or digitization or quantization required. You pay a little more but for small builds, they're easy as pie.
We had a request for an I2S MEMS mic (https://x.com/shvmaurya/status/1829644679513850062) using the ICS-43434 and we thought we'd take a look through the DigiKey and TDK catalogs for some good options!
