Although this was a short trip, it came on the heels of many days straight of travel and we at last meant to sit for a few days once we reached Sister's Creek. Things had been so challenging for a while that I once mentioned to Mike that we would never make it to Jacksonville if we didn't change our ways. Well, we made it. The engines we installed didn't blow up, despite not having them plumbed right at first and not having gauges that were working right. We didn't run aground. We didn't sink. And I didn't ever have that heart attack like Fred Sanford used to pretend to suffer. Maybe I did worry too much and things would all turn out just fine. But, there was a long way to go still...
