Day One of my two day through hike along part of the Great Glen Way which is another of Scotland's fantastic National Trails. This one picks up where the West Highland Way finishes at Fort William and runs through 79 miles of amazing scenery along the Caledonian Canal, the shores of Loch Oich, Loch Lochy and the infamous Loch Ness before descending from the highlands down into the City of Inverness.
We were raising money to help one of our local charities called Cleobury Compassionate Communities and the total reached over £1000.
This is Day one where I joined my buddy Stewart (Who had completed the first section from Fort William to Fort Augustus on his own) where we hike out of Fort Augustus and over the 'High Route' to Invermoriston and then we headed over to Drumnadrochit before climbing back up into hills to find a wild camping spot in the forest.
The second part takes us from there to journey's end.
