In April 2023, the Railway Touring Company and West Coast Railways embarked on an epic 9-day mainline steam excursion across the island of Great Britain, featuring a variety of former LMS Railway Stanier-designed steam locomotives and some of the best scenery England, Wales, and Scotland have to offer. In this video we follow the train's Northbound run, from English Channel in the Southwest to the Northeastern coast of Scotland.
Filmed over the course of five days you'll see: Black 5 44932, Jubilee 45596 'Bahamas', and Royal Scot 46115 'Scots Guardsman' at the head of the train, passing through iconic locations such as Dawlish, Conwy Castle, Shap, and the Firth of Forth, as well as a bonus side trip to see a Double Fairlie on the Ffestiniog Railway.
