Today, we are visiting Christ Church Memorial Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee, to pay our respects to the absolute "Queen of Southern Gospel Music," Vestal Goodman.
Known for her powerhouse vocals, her signature big hair, and the trademark white handkerchief she always waved on stage, Vestal was a trailblazer in Christian music. As a core member of The Happy Goodman Family alongside her husband, Howard "Happy" Goodman, she won multiple Grammy and Dove Awards, leaving a legacy that influenced generations of singers.
She passed away in 2003 at the age of 74 and was laid to rest here in Nashville next to Howard.
