Dad Saves America | The Government Is Behind Big Tech Censorship @DadSavesAmerica | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
YouTube took down the video we planned to release yesterday and issued a warning for medical misinformation, so today I want to talk about why this has become such a frequent issue for certain content creators. While I don’t believe that anyone has a right to YouTube’s services, this isn’t simply a matter of my values conflicting with a private company’s policies. There has been a monumental shift over the past few years in how almost every large social media platform treats dissenting viewpoints. Not so long ago, the internet was the Wild West for free speech—so what happened? The real story isn’t about woke companies or advertiser pressure. It’s about the mafia-like behavior of our own government. In other countries, censorship is straightforward and explicit, but in the US, our First Amendment rights force the government to be a bit more clever. Rather than engage with the complexity of this problem, Republican politicians and pundits spend more time complaining and virtue signaling about free speech. If we want actual solutions, we need to truly understand the nature of the beast, so that’s my goal for today.
