My friends, a remarkable world record set by Perfect Ace in 2019 is quickly closing in on a significant date, in which it would become the Longest Standing Untied World Record in GoldenEye 007 speedrunning history. But how is this possible, and what does it all mean? Indeed, Perfect Ace's Facility Agent 0'42 was set in July 2019, and if it remains untied through December 2025, it will become the game's longest standing untied world record, surpassing this distinction which has been held by Marc Rutzou's Dam 00 Agent 1'55 since the mid 2010's. Could Facility 42 really be that great of a record? In this video, we dive into speedrun analysis, GoldenEye lore, and explain all that went into this remarkable record, as well as pondering about the passage of time and the cultural significance of this "changing of the guard" in GoldenEye history.
