The Golden Dregs is a British band led by singer-songwriter and producer Benjamin Woods. Based in London, the project began as Woods’ solo endeavour and gradually expanded into a full band. Musically, The Golden Dregs are known for Woods’ rich baritone voice, narrative songwriting influenced by short-story authors like Raymond Carver and Lydia Davis, and immersive arrangements blending folk, chamber rock and subtle psychedelia. Their latest album Godspeed (2025) further evolves the sound, fully embracing collaborative input from all band members and setting up Woods’ own label, Joy of Life International.

On May 25, 1993, a young Dolores ORiordan and The Cranberries visited the Dutch TV show 2 Meter Sessies. At the brink of their international breakthrough, the band delivered a raw, intimate, and hauntingly beautiful session that showcased Dolores’ unmistakable voice and the band’s signature melodic sound.
