Important disclaimer in the aftermath, I do not stand by presenting Nyx and Jael as objectively committing the act of bribery. I find the behavior to be suspicious, and much of it to be morally questionable, but there isn't anything concrete to come to that conclusion. For this, I fully acknowledge that presenting it as such was not okay, and should be instead treated, as a grain of salt.
