Another change with Season of the Wish was a massive buff to the Glimmer Economy. No, there wasn't an increase in the cap, but they did substantially increase how much you get from activity completions. Was this enough to offset focusing costs? What is the Glimmer Equation? Let's answer that.

Glimmer Equation (for those that want it in text form):
(1500 + N)g + 1000] + A + S

Variables:
g = Ghost Glimmer Mods. Range from 1.05 to 1.65
N = Nightfall Bonus. 1300-1400 for Hero NFs, ~2500 for GMs
S = Season Pass Glimmer Boosters. GB1 = 1000, GB2 = ~300. Overall 1300 if you own the season.
A = Activity Bonus based on core playlist activity completion and performance
- 3000 = Loss in Crucible/Comp/Gambit, Win/Loss Trials, Low Score Strike/NF
- 5000 = Win in Crucible/Comp/Gambit/Iron Banner, High Score Strike/NF (~200k)
- 8500 = Loss in Iron Banner
