The Ghost and the Darkness is a 1996 film broadly based on real events in 1898 Kenya, when a pair of man-eating lions terrorized, and indeed ate, railway workers. It's a very unique film in some ways, in other ways it's very generic. Like a knobbly potato. I like the movie, but what I really, really like about it is for about 5 or 10 minutes in the middle, it feels like things might get really, really weird.
