In this episode Tony meets with one of the UK's most talented and in demand mix engineers, Ben Baptie. Ben's credits are pretty stellar - from his early sessions assisting Tom Elmhirst and working with producers such as Mark Ronson and Inflo, to mixing some of the most spectacular new music of recent years - Little Sims, Sault and of course Massive Attack featuring Tom Waits.
Ben has been a customer and friend of Soundgas since returning from New York and has a carefully curated selection of classic and esoteric new and vintage gear. He talks to Tony about how the two items in his first Soundgas order (a Hawk spring reverb and Korg Echomixer) became cornerstones of his drum/beats production and mixing and how one of his more recent acquisitions, a Soundgas Type 636P2, delivers vintage-inspired textures.
