This is the fourth in a six-part series on the Gambler’s Fallacy.

This video explores the relationship between probability concepts, like “independence” and “randomness”, and deterministic physical laws.

On the face of it there seems to be a tension between treating a coin toss, say, as a random process, and modeling a coin toss using deterministic equations. How should we interpret the statement “The probability of a coin landing heads is 1/2?” if coin tosses are deterministic processes? That’s the question that this video addresses.
