Learn to play The Galway Shawl - a beautiful Irish folk song about a young musician's romantic encounter with a beautiful girl in Oranmore. The first known version was collected by Sam Henry from Bridget Kealey in Dungiven in 1936. The song has been popularly recorded by many ballad groups in Ireland and is now commonly adapted to a waltz time so that people can dance to it - it's easy to play and sounds beautiful on tin whistle, so why not give it a go with my follow-along tabs tutorial:
