We had the opportunity to put the Sony FX5 to work on a real commercial production for Great Clips before the camera was released to the public.
Throughout the shoot, we moved the FX5 between car-mounted gimbal rigs, handheld builds, and more traditional production setups. Its compact size made it easy to rig and reposition, while the image quality and performance allowed it to hold its own alongside larger cinema cameras.
This project gave us a chance to see how the FX5 performs beyond spec sheets and controlled tests. It proved to be a versatile, powerful camera built for fast-moving productions.
