Dr. Britt earned his Ph.D. from Brown University and has served on the science teams for several landmark NASA missions, including Mars Pathfinder, Deep Space 1, New Horizons, and the Lucy asteroid mission. He currently directs the Center for Lunar and Asteroid Surface Science (CLASS), part of NASA's Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute (SSERVI), where his work focuses on the geology, mineralogy, and resource potential of the Moon and asteroids. Throughout his career, he has received numerous honors, including six NASA Achievement Awards, the NASA-SSERVI Shoemaker Award, and recognition as a Pegasus Professor at the University of Central Florida.
