The Fourvière funicular:
One of Lyon's historic "ficelles," operated by TCL on behalf of SYTRAL Mobilités, the city's transit authority.
The current line, F2, runs from the Vieux Lyon – Cathédrale Saint-Jean station to the top of Fourvière hill, a short 427-meter climb.
It opened on 6 September 1900.
Lyon's funicular history is older still: the city's very first line, opened in 1862 on the Croix-Rousse hill, is considered one of the world's first urban funicular railways.
It is fully integrated into the TCL network, so a standard metro or bus ticket covers the ride.
