The Four Temperaments is a theory created by Ancient Greek physician Aelius Galenus to describe the effect of the four fundamental bodily homours on human personality. The temperaments are Melancholic, Phlegmatic, Choleric, and Sanguine. The theory is that every person has varying levels of each temperament within them, but overall identifies with a single one. Each temperament is related to a classical element and a personality type:
Melancholic - Earth - Analytical and Quiet
Phlegmatic - Water - Relaxed and Peaceful
Choleric - Fire - Short tempered and Irritable
Sanguine - Air - Optimistic and Social
In this suite we travel through all four of the temperaments, seeing how the same melody is interpreted by each personality type.

The hymn from Gustav Holsts Jupiter from The Planets is also known as I Vow To Thee My Country and Thaxted.
The Planets, Op. 32, is a seven-movement orchestral suite by the English composer Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1916. Each movement of the suite is named after a planet of the Solar System and its corresponding astrological character as defined by Holst. With the exception of Earth, all the astrological planets known during the works composition are represented.
Jupiter is the fourth movement from the suite. The movement goes through many different styles, but the part which this arrangement is based on is the hymn tune from Jupiter, called I Vow to Thee, My Country .
This arrangement can also be played by a Brass Quintet, doubling any part.
