This video series identifies the four stages of Biblical transmission; inspiration, preservation, translation and interpretation, and provides examples of how the text or its meaning is changed or altered through this process leaving the reader with his interpretation of the translators opinion of the copiers version of the original text.

Inspiration - The original writers of the Bible were "inspired" to write down their beliefs and history. Many of these were oral traditions passed from generation to generation.

Preservation - It is necessary to "preserve" them by copying them onto new material. Whenever a text is copied by hand, letters, words and even whole sentences can accidently be forgotten, repeated or even altered.

Translation - As the originals and their copies are written in Hebrew, it is necessary to "translate" the text into the language of the reader.


Interpretation - Each reader will then read the translated text and "interpret" it.
