This was my first real trip with the new 2025 Ford Raptor 802A on 37s. Nothing extreme. No wild obstacles. Just getting it dirty, getting a feel for it, and seeing how it fits into the way we actually live and travel.
I brought some good friends along, pointed it toward the dirt, and let the truck do what it was built to do. This platform clearly shines in a pre-running, high-speed desert environment, but I wanted to see how it feels in real-world use in Utah. Off-road trails. Exploring. The Dunes. Hauling people and gear. The kind of trips most of us actually take with our families and friends.
First impressions?
It’s comfortable, capable, and surprisingly refined for how aggressive it looks. This wasn’t about pushing limits. It was about learning the truck, understanding its strengths, and seeing whether it makes sense not just as a performance off-road rig, but as a lifestyle vehicle that can handle overlanding, day trips, and family adventures.
We had a great time, shared some laughs, and came back with a better understanding of what this truck does well and where it fits in the bigger picture of exploration and adventure.
