SPOILERS
This began as a film review of the new release of THE FLASH but became more of a review and analysis ramble with some comparisons to other versions of the Flashpoint story, the Batman 89 comic, Michael Keaton's Batman-but primarily is about the film's script issues which really hold it back from achieving any kind of resonance. Taken as a whole the film plays decently but it lacks the gravitas of the other Flashpoint adaptations. The effects throughout are below par and stick out badly.
Keaton's performance is the reason to purchase a ticket and the film's one notable element of greatness.
