After a combined total of over 40 hours of work, this absolute BEAST of a project is FINALLY DONE! I’m so incredibly happy with how this turned out! Even though it’s sketchy, simplified, and not fully colored, my main goal was just to practice conveying space, emotion, staging, and animating in general. After my previous animatic almost a year ago now, I’ve wanted to do another one but hadn’t had the inspiration or time to do so. But after getting into the JRWI D&D podcast, seeing all the talented community members drawing fanart, animatics on YouTube, and also finally learning to play D&D myself on campus, I instantly felt a wave of creative inspiration. With the recent drop of episode 86 with that EPIC fight scene and two phenomenal monologues, I knew I had to animate it! Plus I got to practice animating stick fighters, learn how to plan/animate choreography, and adding sound fx! I hope you guys enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it!
