What does your home need from you right now?
As we continue our September journey through the Four Pillars of The Modern Home Economist, this week we're turning our attention to Money—not from Wall Street's perspective, but from the heart of the home.
Every homemaker manages a household economy.
Food comes in.
Bills get paid.
Groceries are purchased.
Laundry gets washed.
Birthdays happen.
Christmas comes every year.
Whether we realize it or not, we make financial decisions every day.
Tonight we're talking about becoming a Financially Aware Homemaker—learning to notice what we already have, spend with intention, and make thoughtful decisions that support the people we love.
We'll discuss:
...Knowing what it really costs to run your home
...Shopping your pantry before shopping the store
...The Four Questions Every Homemaker Should Ask Before Spending
...Finding small ways to build financial margin
...Why stewardship is about more than simply spending less
Because peace isn't created when we finally have enough money.
Peace begins when we become intentional with the resources already passing through our hands.
This Week's Homemaker Challenge
Choose one place to look more carefully this week.
It might be:
• Your grocery spending
• A pantry shelf
• A subscription you no longer use
• Your family calendar
• One financial habit you'd like to improve
Don't try to change everything.
Simply begin.
