This is the final video in the Beginner Painting Tips series for oils and acrylics, where we bring the painting to completion.

While everyone finishes a painting in their own way, this lesson shows a reliable, repeatable approach you can return to again and again.
In this video, you’ll see how to:
Add impasto highlights to reinforce light
Introduce a few select details (such as utility poles) without clutter
Use dark accents to enrich shadows and create visual interest
Make finishing decisions based on the original value and shape structure
Because the painting was built on strong light-and-dark value shapes from the very beginning, the finish becomes far more predictable. The bones are good — and when that’s the case, the beauty of a light-filled scene has a much better chance of emerging.
Watch how this final stage plays out, then practice your own version as often as needed. Repetition builds confidence, clarity, and good painting muscle memory.
