“The Final Stage“ from the episode “A Horse Shoe-In“ of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” (S09E20).

In what is likely her final episode of the season, Starlight Glimmer is informed by Twilight Sparkle that, as previously mentioned, she intends to have Starlight take over as Headmare of the School of Friendship. Starlight sets off to find a vice headmare to assist in her new role.
This episode is absolutely packed with some wonderful score, 15 tracks in total! The episode itself features numerous returning characters, so likewise we have plenty of returning leitmotifs for them, some from many seasons ago! In addition, William Anderson also packs the episode full of some great new cues, especially as we move towards the episode’s conclusion, which features a few wonderful, more emotional pieces.
And of course we have to mention the return of Vinyl and Octavia performing a short number together, one of the episode’s many references and callbacks to Episode 100.

As the candidates prepare for the final stage, Starlight and Big Mac come to an agreement that he isn't right for the job. She then tries to have a serious discussion with Trixie about her performance.
For her discussion with Big Mac, William Anderson uses a bit of Starlight's leitmotif in the score, which is great to hear again.
Trixie enters the scene next, and we transition to a more accordion instrumentation.
