Most people don’t even realize their faucet (or tap) has a hidden filter built into the end — and if you’ve never checked yours, it could be disgusting. In this short video, I’ll show you how to spot the aerator, remove it with a simple tool, soak it in vinegar, and restore your water flow. A clogged aerator can make your tap feel weak or spray unevenly, and the fix is easier than you’d think.
Mine took about 20 minutes of soaking, and what came out was rank — you’ll definitely want to check yours. Whether you're in the UK, US, or anywhere else, nearly every modern faucet has one — and it probably needs a clean.
This quick DIY could save you calling a plumber or replacing the whole tap — and once you’ve seen it, you’ll never ignore it again.

About me:
I'm Aiden and I'm documenting what was supposed to be my barn conversion, which has now ended up being a new build. I don't have a trade, I just have a go and I'll be doing lots of work myself. This is the boring bit in grand designs that you don't get to see. Subscribe and follow along to find out how our future home turns out.
