On the second day of the Warrnambool carnival, only one jump with eight starters was held.
On the final jump Our Aristocrat fell heavily and as you will see in these photos, his head curled under his neck. He is extremely lucky that he did not die instantly, and we have grave concerns for his welfare. A half ton animal does not fall in such a manner without consequences.
The official stewards report only notes that he is 'lame' in the off foreleg after the race.
