These are Floating Counterbalance Leverage Pulldowns... a.k.a. Facepalm Pulldowns.

It's the next step up from the "normal" counterbalance pull-up I showed a few weeks ago.

Ok, maybe I've gone too far this time... nah. This is one of those fun challenge exercises that I don't expect anybody else to do.

With this one, I'm holding position off the ground while using the bars to do short range leverage pulldowns, one arm at a time.

I've got just 5 lbs on each of the other ends of the bars (thanks to physics). I weigh about 175 lbs right now.

When I was doing the pull-ups version, I had 7 1/2 lbs on the ends, but with this one, in order to actually move the bars, it had to be a bit less.

This one is a real challenge to the back, arms, core and especially grip (because I'm holding onto the fat ends of the bars while supporting my bodyweight while doing the pulldowns).

It requires even more body control than the original counterbalance one.

But yeah... I know... :)
