The Science Technology Facilities Council (STFC) have announced the production of the Extreme Photonics Application Centre (EPAC) an £81 million research centre that will be built by the UK's Central Laser Facility at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire.
When the facility opens in 2024 it will create highly accurate 3D images of the internal structure of objects ranging from aircraft wings to bones
