MBF - Modern Homesteading | The Exterior is Coming Together! | Couple Building Their Own Home In The Canadian Wild @MBFModernHomesteading | Uploaded 2 years ago | Updated 1 day ago
We are sheathing in the gable ends of our off grid home. Once this is sheeted in, we can then finish wrapping the home with tyvek, put in the windows and doors and put on the soffit. There is something about putting up sheathing that really makes the place feel more homey. We also take a trip to basspro.com for a few things.

We're a couple building our own home from the ground up on a small mountain in the Canadian wilderness. After serving in the army for the last several years, we faced a major setback with a medical release in 2018 and had to pack up our family and live in an RV on 70 acres we purchased with the impending release. We built our own home, and learned to live a more self reliant life while transitioning to a completely new life outside of the army. We built and sold the first home we built, which is documented entirely on our main channel "MBF Off-Grid". We sold it to be closer to medical care but that didn't stop us from fighting and moving forward. We also bought a farmhouse that we are remodelling and can be seen on our alternate channel "MBFarmhouse".
