Dr. William Birkin was brilliant virologist turned horrific monster. Though to some he could have always been consider one since starting his work at Umbrella. As Birkin worked in the B.O.W. division of Umbrella and created a plethora of monsters which shaped the future of Resident Evil. His greatest creation now though was that of the G-Virus.
