Long before Tyrannosaurus rex, a formidable predator ruled the ancient floodplains of southern England. Neovenator salerii, unearthed on the Isle of Wight, was a dinosaur that could have posed a serious threat to the spinosaurs of the Wessex Formation, such as Ceratosuchops and Riparovenator - relatives of Baryonyx.
