On April 18, 2025, the tradition of the "Encuentro" between the Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno of Quiapo Basilica - National Shrine and the Mater Dolorosa of the San Sebastian Basilica was revived after years long hiatus. The rite commemorates the meeting of the Mother and Son on the Way of the Cross.
