God is RELATIONAL. We start a relationship by believing in the person and work His Son. We believe that Jesus is God and that He died for us on the cross. When we do that God responds by saving us from sin and death and we become a child of God. That is called "Salvation." But the real adventure after that moment of salvation is the lifelong journey of "following" Jesus or being with him knowing him intimately in order to become like Him. The Bible says that salvation is always followed by transformation which looks like Christ formation. We begin to think and act like Jesus. The key that unlocks it all? Your daily and moment by moment partnership with the EMPOWERING PRESENCE of the Holy Spirit.
