Hey guys! In today's video, I talk about the elitist principles that the sustainability community has on youtube. In theory, sharing things that can help the environment is very considerate and nice, in the same breath they have a tendency to shame people who can't do those things. However, things like fast fashion are accessible to poorer populations who can't afford expensive clothing. Purchasing sustainable new clothing or shopping organic, maybe even going vegan are good things to do but pressuring people to go broke so they don't purchase fast fashion, and shaming them if they do is morally wrong. As a generalized community, they have good intentions but leave out a huge part of the population.
