Elephants are complex social animals, with female elephants living in matriarchal family herds typically led by the eldest female.
At Elephant Nature Park, most of the elephants are rescued at different times and are not blood-related. However, this does not hinder them from forming cohesive herds. Each time we rescue an elephant, we eagerly observe who they will bond with and witness how this bond directly contributes to their recovery from past traumas.
Join us as youngsters ChomPu and Muay Lek lead their herd to cool down in the river, followed by a refreshing mud bath. Here, we can witness their cohesive movement throughout the park, always checking on one another and ensuring no member is left behind, even the slowest one.
